Governance Structure

How We Govern

Branches Christian Cooperative operates under a board-governed model. The Board of Directors is responsible for:

  • Setting the strategic direction and mission of the organization
  • Overseeing financial management and fiscal accountability
  • Ensuring compliance with 501(c)(3) regulations and state nonprofit laws
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and community impact
  • Hiring and overseeing any staff or contracted personnel

Annual Meeting

Our organization holds an annual meeting each Summer where:

  1. Board members are elected for three-year terms
  2. Officers are chosen from among the Board
  3. The annual budget is presented and approved
  4. Program outcomes from the previous year are shared
  5. Future goals and plans are discussed

Tax-Exempt Status

Branches Christian Cooperative is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations to the organization are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our Employer Identification Number (EIN) is:

IRS Compliance

The Corporation files Form 990 or 990-EZ annually as required by the IRS. We maintain our tax-exempt status through proper record-keeping, governance compliance, and adherence to the purposes outlined in our articles of incorporation and governing documents.

  • Dual-Domain Transparency: Branches Christian Cooperative operates both branchescc.org (nonprofit org) and branchescoop.org (co-op programs). These dual domains represent the same legal entity, supporting transparency with donors, partners, and verifying agencies.
